On Tuesday the Eighth of December 2020 we hosted our final event for the MOVINGRAIL project.

Movingrail assessed operation procedures and advanced testing methods for ETCS level 3 Moving Block Signalling as well as communication technologies and market potential of virtual coupling.

You may view the recordings of these sessions by clicking the links below. The sessions include:

• Opening & welcome - Rob Goverde (TU Delft, Coordinator)

• MOVINGRAIL overview – Rob Goverde (TU Delft)

• Operation Analysis of Train Centric Signalling – Jörn Pachl (TU Braunschweig)

• Approaches for Testing Moving Block Signalling – Lei Chen (University of Birmingham)

• Communication Technology for Virtual Coupling – Bill Redfern (PARK Signalling)

• Business Analysis of Virtual Coupling – Egidio Quaglietta (TU Delft)

The project will bring forward innovative concepts of “moving-block” railway traffic operations by (1) advancing testing methods for ETCS Level 3 and (2) Analysing Virtual Coupling which will lead to convoys of automated trains under cooperative adaptive control.
